Hi all! It’s been a while. The political situation continues to be a challenge to our building. There have been riots, and the roads were blocked for two weeks straight, preventing our team from buying the materials needed for building.

You may also notice that we have been building more duplexes lately. This is due to the fact that a lot of families are coming to Croix-des-Bouquets from the South. Most of them don’t have land or any property, so we have asked churches , pastors, and priests to donate small piece of land so we can help those families. On that land, we are able to fit a duplex and allow a larger family to live in one space.

This duplex was built for two families and a total of ten people. Helene Louis lives with three kids and her sister. They lost everything during the last earthquake, but she was able to come to Croix-des-Bouquets with the help of a priest. Her elder sister, Nathalie Louis, lives in the other part of the duplex. She has four children and her husband was killed in a shooting last year. Their family is not pictured in the photos.

Thank you for your continued support!
