Homes from the Heart and CIS were able to build a new home for Flor Panameña and her family, with funds we saved on the other homes. Flor’s husband, Jorge, worked collecting bus fare, but was laid off due to the pandemic. He is now speaking with Raul and CIS about taking a course in electricity or plumbing to attain a better income. Jorge shared that he grew up in the garbage dump and survived by recycling and selling garbage until it was shut down around 1998. Our contact with CIS visited the families there when it was open and shared that the living conditions were horrible beyond words. Their new home has beautiful walls and steps that give the family options for expanding. Their oldest daughter shared that she loves the new home and is happy because now she can play on the floor with her sister.

Thank you for helping us to make this possible.
