Homes 101–102: Naomie Louis’s family of nine, including her five-year-old son and four brothers, recently fled Port-au-Prince for their own safety and left everything behind to come to Mirebalais. They arrived with one small bag of clothes.

We built a duplex for the large family. We were able to find people to buy them beds, chairs, and a table. Now they’re ready to start a new life, they said.

Home 203: Solange Estimé is 52 years old and has three children. Her husband had to stay in Port-au-Prince and work despite of the dangerous situation. Though he is able to provide for them, he sent them Mirebalais where it is safer. Their family owned a piece of land with plenty of space to add on in the future. Solange plans to sell food in front of her house.

House 204: Joceline Marie Pierre and her two daughters were living in Croix-des-Bouquets. Her husband was killed when a shooting occurred between the police and the gang. They relocated to Mirebalais, and she has no one else to help her since her husband passed away.
