A memorial honors those killed in the El Mozote massacre during the Salvadoran Civil War.
Plaques at the memorial display the names of more than 800 citizens who were killed in the massacre.
The newly rebuilt church in El Mozotes commemorates the victims.
The old church was one of the sites where villagers were kept before they were killed in the massacre. After they were killed, the previous church was burned to the ground.

Murals decorate the new church with images of joy and hope, honoring the lives of children who were killed.

Sister Anne Griffin stands in front of the memorial garden.
